I am a huge, huge, huge Taylor Swift fan, so seeing her live has always been a dream of mine. On May 6th, 2023, that dream finally came true at the Eras Tour in Nashville, Tennessee. It was the same weekend she announced Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), just one day before my show.

My opener was Phoebe Bridgers, who I also adore. Around that time, her song “Graceland Too” I teared up hearing it live. As we waited for Taylor to come out, she had the perfect playlist blasting through the stadium. You could feel the anticipation building with every tick of the countdown clock. Every single era was done flawlessly. People always say the Eras Tour is unbelievable, and I promise you they mean it. Nobody does it like Taylor Swift.

Phoebe Bridgers

My surprise songs were “Out of the Woods” (she played it twice) and “Fifteen.” I screamed the “Out of the Woods” bridge so loudly I’m sure everyone around me thought I was losing my mind, you can literally hear me screaming in every single video. I also handmade my concert outfit. It was a replica of her “Bejeweled” look. I hot-glued hundreds of gems onto a dance leotard, decorated matching boots, and even put jewels in my hair. It was one of my favorites.

One of the highlights of the entire night was when Phoebe Bridgers returned to the stage for “Nothing New.” Definitely another really exciting surprise of the night.

The visuals throughout the show were breathtaking. Everyone in the audience had a light-up bracelet, and the entire stadium transformed with each song. During “August,” the stadium appeared like a sunset, and during Lover, glowing hearts wrapped around the entire arena.

Hearing Taylor talk in real life,  after loving her basically since I came out of the womb was so crazy. My adrenaline stayed sky-high for the entire concert. Ending the night with Midnights was perfect; everyone was dancing and screaming the lyrics like we were all part of one big family.

And yes, I got to witness the iconic belly flop into the stage, she’s so creative with her transitions and theatrics. And speaking of transitions, “Don’t Blame Me” into “Look What You Made Me Do” was absolutely insane. No video does that moment justice, you just had to be there.

The crowd moments were unforgettable too: everyone screaming the Kendrick Lamar lines during “Bad Blood” “You forgive, you forget, but you never let it go!”, and the legendary “1, 2, 3, let’s go b!tch!” during “Delicate.” It felt like this giant, unspoken community where everyone just knew what to do.

The concert ended with Taylor looking directly at our section and waved.
Seeing her wave in our direction, I was absolutely fangirling so hard. Taylor Swift has some of the best creatives in concert history.
