The Venue

Hersheypark Stadium is one of the most unique places you can attend an event. It’s located in the heart of Hershey, Pennsylvania, right next to the Hersheypark amusement park. This, combined with the slight rain and packed crowd, created one of the most electric, energetic atmospheres you’ll ever see at a concert. However, due to the star power involved, merchandise lines wrapped around the stadium twice. It was an incredible environment, but Hersheypark just isn’t a big enough venue to handle names this large.

The Music

There was no shortage of star power or big hits from the duo, each performing their best individual songs, diving into their albums, and coming together for their most popular collaborations. The setlist included classics such as a remixed “m.A.A.d city” from Lamar and “Broken Clocks” from SZA. There was truly something for everyone, from deep-cut, emotional tracks to fast-paced, flawless performances.

The two came together to sing “LOVE.” and “All the Stars,” among many others. The atmosphere was unmatched, closing with the infamous “Not Like Us” and a beautiful harmony on “gloria.” Even after Kendrick’s incredible 2024, he still went deep into his earlier albums, especially DAMN. and Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers – my personal favorite.

SZA went all out during her solo sets, leaning into the bug-and-nature theme of her last album, SOS (Deluxe). The co-headliner completely took over the stage with vines, robots, and even decorated the Buick Grand National,  the namesake of the tour. Her setlist drew mostly from SOS, its deluxe version, and Ctrl.

While both are incredible performers on their own, they were even better together. Their chemistry is unmatched. Easily one of, if not the best duos in the industry. This was especially visible in “30 for 30,” “Doves in the Wind,” and “LOVE.” And that’s only a few examples.

It was an unforgettable experience, and if you ever have the opportunity — see this duo live.
