Walking Into TRIC
Walking into the old One Tree Hill set ‘Tric’ for the first time felt almost surreal — like stepping straight into a scene from the show. Then again, I always get that feeling when I’m on a film set.
On May 17, 2024, TRIC hosted the One Tree Hill Benefit Concert as part of a weekend event organized by FWB Charity Events. The lineup featured Jana Kramer, Tyler Hilton, and Kate Voegele — three artists whose music helped define the One Tree Hill soundtrack.
The Performances
Hearing their voices fill TRIC again felt extremely nostalgic. Kate and Tyler’s duet of “When the Stars Go Blue” was especially moving — the same song once performed by Haley James in the show.
Tyler Hilton’s voice sounded just heartfelt live as it does on his recordings. One of my favorite moments came when Jana Kramer performed “Whiskey.” Hearing it in person gave me chills, her voice carried so much emotion and nostalgia.
Throughout the night, Tyler’s friendly personality and humor kept the energy high. After the show, he even invited the entire audience to take Polaroid pictures with him — a thoughtful touch that made the night even more memorable.
Capturing the Moment
I had the opportunity to photograph the concert for Wilmington Today, and it was truly a one of a kind experience. Capturing moments from a performance in such an iconic building — one that holds so much meaning for fans — made the night feel even more special.
The One Tree Hill Benefit Concert wasn’t just about music; it was a celebration of community, nostalgia, and the lasting impact of a show that continues to bring people together years after its finale.
